At Sorrento Dental Care, we use the Galileos 3D CBCT scanner for all our dental imaging. Using this technology, we are able to take precise, high resolution scans of your teeth and jaw quickly and with very little radiation exposure. (In fact, the radiation dose is 100x less than traditional CT scanners!)
The Galileos 3D CBCT scanner produces images that are incredibly detailed, showing both soft and hard tissue accurately. This allows us to plan your treatment more effectively, as we can see whether you have sufficient bone density for dental implants, or whether your dentures are causing bone loss, or whether your wisdom teeth are impacted, as well as the location of nerves and the roots of your teeth.
When you come in for your first visit, we will take a scan of your teeth and jaw using the Galileos 3D CBCT scanner. The process is extremely quick, and gives us complete, high resolution digital scan of your entire jaw and all your teeth. Using this technology helps us ensure that we can provide consistent, reliable results for all our patients.
If you’re transferring from another dentist in the Pensacola area, and would like to forego the CT scan, we may be able to use scans from your previous dentist, as long as they are not too old. Give us a call at (850) 492-7646 if you have any questions.
